My thanks for the kind comments and encouragement. The South Island has the mountains (Aspiring is the 10th highest one) and the lakes , the North Island has the volcanoes !! - and a few lakes as well

Great painting Mike. In the past I've tramped up to the base, climbing it was beyond me even then. As you see I seem to have missed a lot of your wonderful landscapes so am doing a big catch-up.

Mt Aspiring is found in the South Island. It is 3033 metres high and is part of the mountain chain that is located against the west coast of this island . No , I haven't climbed it - just observed from close proximity. A bigger than usual painting ( for me that is )
