Imposing, solid building, well offset by the blue-green of the foliage - you wouldn't have wanted acid colours in this. I'm particularly impressed by the shades and shadows (these being some of my favourite things). It has something of the flavour of a print to it, that is a lithograph or wood block print .... must be the strong contrasts.

I like this linear construction of a beautiful building, like Robert says a bit like a block print.

Thank you. Feedback is always useful:) That said, when I compare the painting to Palladio's original building I realise that the proportion of the columns in relation to the building is slightly off- but I suppose that art is like anything else in terms of learning through mistakes:)

Capturing the atmosphere isore important. The building looks like it has two hooded eyes staring out - to me this is more important than getting the dimensions right. It is about inspiring the imagination - showing what really drove you to paint this particular building! And you've done that.

Interesting how different people looking at the same painting will see so many different things. :) Thanks for the positive feedback, Jamie. :)
