Not ecstatically keen on this one ; it is the one I was working on when my puss-cat died - and for that reason it has been v. difficult to finish.

Ah.... you have my sympathy. That sort of thing affects everything .... but this is a strong and interesting image; liked the dog, too, not to mention anything else! The only way I could really deal with things when my last pet died (let's be honest: he was a rat - but a very NICE rat...) was to draw him in his last stages of life: encouragingly, he still showed signs of rebellion, as when he nicked half of my Kit-Kat bar and struggled off with it - defiance! Life in the face of death! I respect that, and embrace it! May I suggest that you don't hesitate for a moment, but get yourself another cat - I know it won't replace the one you lost, but it'll be different and at the same time will help to fill the inevitable gap. This is the end of my latest episode in amateur psychology. I expect you'll be quite pleased ....

Thanks Robert. :) I do have a couple of sketches and a painting of my former pet. I like the sound of your rat: what a character. :) Anyway, my cat died in October of last year- and I did have to wait a while before considering another cat because her illness reduced me to complete penury(!) ; but I will be acquiring another cat in a couple of months. She's only 2 weeks old at present, so is still with Mum but I'm making preparations for the new arrival. :)
