Made me smile Lucy. I love donkeys. Lovely work

Well worth the spilt waters Lucy, love your donkeys.

What's a little spilt water Lucy. These are great.

Good job it wasn't spilled over the painting. Too good to be ruined. I love these two

I think Bert and Ernie deserve a virtual carrot each for being such appealing characters. Love em. (-:

Comical chaps Lucy, I saw your WIP and the end result is excellent.

I love donkeys. And these are fabulous, Lucy.

They are fab Lucy, I love them! They turned out really good and I really like the colours you have used, brilliant!

Loads of attitude in this piece! Beautifully done!

Nice painting Lucy . great donkeys. well done.

Thank you all for the very kind comments. I'm glad you like them and that they made you smile! Lucy

Like these - very characterful donkeys.. As for your little accident - if that's the worst that happens to you in a painting career, you'll have done well. Compared to sitting down on a palette (yup, that was me...) you've got off lightly so far. I see you resolved the negative space issue by painting it out - probably the wisest course (this will only make sense to others if they've seen the WIP on the Forum).

A fabulous painting of these two fine boys Lucy, like your choice of palette.

This is fun, Lucy, full of character - and the colour choice is lovely.

Thank you Robert, and who knows, maybe that's a way to make an accidental masterpiece!! Re: the negative space, yes, even when it was all finished it still jarred with me, so decided it was best to paint it out. Thank you Fiona and Jenny, I'm glad you like them, and yes, I'm not one for realistic colour palettes.

Pair of donkeys. Acrylic on stretched canvas, 18x24, wet in wet. Managed to paint these over two and a half days with no accidents and then knocked both glasses of painting water all over the kitchen floor when I was cleaning up!
