M/C Castlefield

This looks suitably gloomy, like these underpasses usually do. I am not sure I would care to walk through there after dark! This has all the atmosphere of the city and these dark forgotten places in them. I do like all the detail of the super-structure above the pillars - make it all very authentic.

Thanks Ros and Gudrun. Any train going over this construction would bring the whole lot down I feel! Not the most accurate drawing of all the metal work but I enjoyed painting the scene and hopefully conveyed the industrial, solid feel of the place.

Having gone round Manchester and through the Rochdale 9 a few years ago in a narrow boat this painting brings back some great memories. Love all the different bridges and the colour of the water.
