Lovely selection of complimentary colours that always work so well together. I like the feeling of walking through a woods and then suddenly coming across the white houses - adds an air of mystery to the painting. The purple sky is quite delicious. Great work.

Thank you all. Infact, it isn't the best of photographs. It was already framed and behind glass when I remembered that I hadn't taken a photo of it. First thing I do now since discovering this site! At least you can't see my reflection here as has happened in some of my others :)

This is a fascinating painting, Louise. It is your unmistakable style, and yet seems to me to be a slightly different presentation. But since it is "a few years old", I suppose one needs to think forwards to you more recent works. I'm rambling a bit but it is late! But I know what I mean!

Goodness, so many lovely comments here and thanks to you all for taking the time and trouble!. It's a little worrying though as this is an older painting and I'm thinking now that perhaps I've lost my way and I should go back to painting these more detailed pictures. It's hard to stick to any one style though as I'm always wanting to try something different . Thank you all again, it's so interesting for me the see what others think and I didn't expect such a reaction to this painting. Actually, I'm delighted :)

Thanks Fiona! Other people seem to come up with such clever names whereas most of mine are called something moon , something light or just plain untitled! This one was easier as the hill and the primroses are evident :)

Your style has changed towards more modern and simple and your colours are cooler and more transparent. I love both!
