Nice one, Louise. I do like your windows - they have a nice depth but with light tones which show the light. Well done for the shadows!! I struggle with them as you know, but the shadows across the path give a feeling of sunlight and make the scene look very solid and real. Lovely palette as usual and a nice inviting painting.

Tonally this is really strong and having no figures is nice to see sometimes.Like this one very much.

Your window shadows are excellent Louise....well done!!

Very nicely painted Louise, I like the bright red door, next to the dark blue wall - attracts the eye. The shadows are nice and transparent. Could I just ask if the path has different colours in it , as the nearest shadow is much 'pinker' than the others.

Many thanks Thea, David and Fiona!

Thanks Stephen. The path does have quite a few colours, mostly naples yellow and yellow ochre mixed with a touch of cadmium red and raw sienna in the foreground. The nearest shadow is is pinker than the others. I'm not sure how the colours have translated on your screen, but the door isn't red! It's more of an orangey/raw sienna colour. Now I've realised that the colours appear darker depending on which way my computer screen is tilted. The darker version looks much better but isn't true to real life! :)

This lovely, Louise. I like it lots. Dare I suggest a tiny door handle?

You may Lionel and good thinking! A door handle would be useful :)

I like this a lot Louise, esp the shadows. ps The door was an orangey/raw sienna colour on my screen as you described it.

I like it ,no door handle ,pinkey path and all, I would have liked a frozen cat on the doorstep but all in all a lovely slightly quirky painting . : )

Thanks Debs and William! William, don't mention cats or puppies either! :)

Good one Louise. I like how the path takes you back into the painting, like 3D.

Sorry Louise I missed this one! I agree with everyone, lovely watercolour
