Towards the Village (re-worked)

Lovely sky: if I remember rightly it was less blue! A very eye-catching painting.

I like this one too. Clear beautiful colour. Intricate but still very pleasant to the eye.

The very limited palette works brilliantly here and emphasises the design and structure of the composition. Love you imagination.

Thank you all ! I do like this web site. Where else could we reach such a large audience! Positive comments are so encouraging and I love seeing all your work and different techniques. With regard to this painting, yes Avril, the sky here was originally lighter. That was very observant of you ! I felt that it was a bit lifeless before so eventually I plucked up the courage, masked the sun with masking fluid, re-wet the sky and applied a darker wash. This could have been a disaster but luckily it worked and I'm pleased with the result. I think it looks better. I always leave my paintings taped to the board for at least a week just incase I want to make changes ! Thanks again. Louise
