An experiment which has really paid off - love the result.

I'm not surprised you are excited. This is wonderfu; full of energy and lifel. You have been very busy today!

Absolutely love it !

Thanks Michael, Gudrun and Beverley. This might sound silly but I sort of feel as though I know where to go next. I got bored with abstract landscapes which was probably beginning to show. I am excited by this technique and can't wait to try a larger one. I have to stretch some paper ready for tomorrow now, after Corrie and Masterchef naturally! Where would I be without this site and all your lovely, helpful comments? Thanks again.

Is Masterchef on ? Bum - my husband always secretly turns over so I don't realise ! Sorry to use this a forum !

Lively and colourful.......great painting Louise.

Great result Louise.

Thanks Fiona and Debs!

It must be Spring in the air with all this experimenting - I've been having a go too! This is lovely and even although you say it was a quick piece of a scrap of paper - aren't they often the best? I have a feeling if you try and translate this into a 'proper' painting it would loose a lot of its beautifully casual and immediate look. I think a quick, devil may care attitude to painting often produces a work of more vivacity and life than the very planned and considered work. I should stick with the gut reaction type of work if it produces work as lovely as this.

Coo - a different approach from you, which I like.... it does help to try something quite different now and then, and helps even more if you can survive the attention of the multiple posters.... because I had a job finding this....

Thanks Robert and Thea. Robert, I had a job finding this as well. Things would be so much better if a limit of one posting per day could be set. We'd all be happier, even the MP's who's work I might then comment on instead of ignoring as I do now! Thea, I shall try. Today's the day. Paper stretched and clingfilm at the ready.. lol

I like it very much Louise and trying something new might open up a completely new world for you. Think less and paint!!!

Hi Louise and thanks again for your comment on my latest, I agree with you about only allowing one posting per day on here, as it's getting beyond a joke! What really annoys me though is people who seem to dump their life's work on here in one go then are never seen or heard of again! Rant over now lol !

Pleased to see this one.The result is lovely.Especially like the subtle berries

Thank you Satu, Debs, David and Carole!

Hi Louise, lucky you in Portugal! Same result here too :) If it's ever any different I will need medical help to get over the shock, lol x...... ps love this!

watercolour and ink. 15 cm x 20 cm. This is today's experiment using black and sepia drawing ink , watercolour, clingfilm and masking fluid. Just about everything! Actually, although small and painted quickly on a scrap of left over paper, I'm rather pleased and even a little excited by the result even though it's mostly accidental. I'll have to have a proper try at this sort of painting, it was good fun!
