30 min challenge!

Well I have no idea why you aren't pleased with this painting!! It is lovely - so sunny, colourful and a super vignette of a corner of a room. Love the colours of the books as well. You are much, much too hard on yourself - you can take off the hair shirt now lol!

Thanks Thea. I messed up the shadows, my excuse is that the sun kept going in!

Louise, you've even managed to get a patterned wallpaper in your 30 mins! I admire that - left my background blank...

Why not be proud of this, Louise? It is the fun that counts and I think it is beautiful, well done!

Don't know why you're unhappy with this Louise, it's good!

Thanks Jane, Mia and Carole. I'll just say that it's a bit rough! I do feel though that the 30 minute challenge is very good painting exercise. It takes concentration and there's no time for mistakes. You have to be confident and not worry too much about the finished painting.

A good 30 mins - well painted

I know what you mean, Louise, that you are not proud of it....neither was I of mine, but it did teach me something...namely that planning and drawing are important for a painting which you want to be of some significance. But the fun side of painting insignificance , as in a 30 min. effort, is such a healthy thing, and I am quite happy to feel not only not proud of such, but happy to join the many who will not post because they feel their work is not good enough....As a sloppy, loose, impromptu painting, intended for no Tate, I really enjoy this one of yours.

Amazing what you can get done in 30 mins! I like this, especially the shadows which seem to place it nicely on the paper!

Many thanks Glennis, Ruth and Debs. Also, could I point out that the painting on the wall is one of mine and a lot better than this one (lol)!

Aha - I thought it might be one of yours, meant to ask if it was then forgot - doh!

Lovely painting Louise and really amazing that you can paint it in 30 minutes, well done

You should certainly be proud of this, Louise - it's delighful! Love the wallpaper detail and the cheerful colors.
