I'd say you've got it exactly right Louise! I interpret this as a rainy evening in central Manchester with all it's lights and reflections!

Thanks Christine. No wings this time Dennis but I'm definitely 'winging it'. lol

Not usually a fan of abstracts but I do like the feel of this, I think Christine has summed it up well.

Well done Louise! These last two abstracts are really successful, love them. I'm experimenting with this kind of composition myself at the moment, but can't get my dark glazes to cover the brighter colours without them removing the under layer and making mud. You have got it nailed, great effect. I'm going to try doing the underlayers in acrylic ink, so as not to disturb them later ; dont know if it will work. PS your white lines work very well !

It's an approach to somewhere, like "airport" but not obvious. It could take quite a time, looking and interpreting, and everyone will come up with something different - that's a success isn't it? The strong, rich colours are beautiful.

Like Christine says, wet reflections. lovely jewel like colours enhanced by the darks.

Fabulous colours Louise, lovely work.

This is super Louise, love the shapes and colours, it's a really lively painting.

Thank you Stephen, Sharon, Marjorie, Val and Margaret. I wasn't really a fan of abstract work either Stephen but must say, I'm enjoying trying to paint this way. Now, I'm pleased that you like it and might frame it up. Watercolour paintings always look better mounted up behind glass. You really ought to try an abstract. I promise it'll be an interesting experience and different :) Good luck Sharon. My white lines are a combination of masking fluid applied at random and then white gouache added later. Looking forward to seeing your abstract now..no pressure intended! I agree Marjorie, people see different things. Now you mention it, I see an airport as well! I wasn't sure if I'd added enough darks Val but think I'll leave it as it is. I'm now looking at a huge sheet of paper which I've just attacked with a decorating brush and roller. Now I'm stuck. lol The colours are a bit accidental Margaret. I tend to hope for the best when painting like this!

Beautiful matching colours, Louise.

Just love it, great composition and colours. Love the way that the viewer can put their own interpretation.
