Love the composition and the beautiful, fresh colours, Louise.

Many thanks Jenny and Dennis. I've got a large sheet of paper taped to the board at the moment which I keep finding excuses not to start painting on. These flowers were a distraction really. I wanted to paint yesterday otherwise stupidly perhaps, I would have felt guilty! Not exactly sure why that is. It's not sunny here this morning so hopefully I'll make a start..later on :)

Lovely Louise, really beautiful .

Beautiful painting, Louise, beautiful bright colours.

Gorgeous colours - love it!

Lovely jewel colour's very fab

Many thanks David, Cesare, Linda and Jenny. My flowers weren't quite as colourful as this. They were actually a pale pink which looked a bit washed out so out came the 'opera rose' colour paint and I just went for it..LOL

Really beautiful piece of work, Louise. Yes, I know that feeling, when you want to get started but something is holding you back from that first stroke of the brush onto a blank white sheet!!

Many thanks Chandra..still avoiding the blank sheet :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels 'guilt' when I don't paint....I haven't done anything for THREE days now and I'm getting edgy...lol What a distraction this painting is though.....beautiful, you could call it your artistic 'intermezzo' piece! Pick up your brush darling and go for it....then I will try and take my own advice.

Exuberance, that us what I thought when I saw this Louise it is beautiful. yes I am having that trouble at the moment, have to paint BUT, all is going wrong! :(

Thanks Fiona and Carole. Yesterday was too hot..today rain. I need another excuse !

Ah Ah! yes the light is all wrong for painting............

This is lovely Louise, beautiful colours.

Lovely Louise, full of vibrancy and colour!

Thanks Christine and Margaret for your kind comments which I appreciate. It's stopped raining Carole but nearly tea time now..LOL

Wow, that is so beautiful Louise.

That is a cracker Louise, I love it! I keep saying it of all your work but that's how I feel. Free, colourful, exciting.... I'm a bit in a dark space with my painting too at the moment. Day before yesterday I made an effort and was spreading paint on a canvas for an hour and a half....nothing....waste of good paint. It will come back sooner or later... I hope. Have you got a plan for the big one Louise?

Lovely flowers in your usual brilliant style Louise.

Thank you Val. Satu and Sarah, very kind of you to leave such nice comments. A vague plan Satu but definitely no wedding portraits LOL. That was a surprise wasn't it? The memories of that struggle came flooding back..not that they'd ever actually gone away :)

....and there's the ironing!

Yes, quite a surprise! I have met her once after winning the competition and I even had a copy printed of the painting and it's hung on the wall of my studio. It was a great challenge with so many people taking part. Let's hope that she has something really challenging and interesting for us to do during the winter months. No winter yet, it's boiling hot and humid. Will you have the courage to pick up the brush tomorrow? Let Fiona do the ironing!!

Absolutely gorgeous, Louise.

Many thanks Shirley and Helen for your kind comments!

I certainly didn't make a copy of my effort Satu, or I should say 'efforts' as there were rather a few. It was great fun though and so many joined in which was brilliant to see. I'll never forget that particular challenge! Go for a crumpled look Fiona, as little ironing as possible I say :)

Have I missed a challenge Louise? Still haven't done the ironing....

It was a pol competition years ago Fiona to paint from a wedding photograph which I've never forgotten. Satu's won and I wasn't even a runner up! Your latest challenge is to do that ironing which is probably piling up nicely..LOL

I thought I had missed a challenge, but I'm glad I missed the wedding photo challenge. You're right, I must apply myself to all things domestic tomorrow, or Sunday, or even Monday.......I do happen to have a young Yellow Hammer at the moment requiring my full and undivided attention I'll have you know. Mine isn't an easy life....lol

A stunning piece, Louise! Bright, clear and luminous washes that really bring out the freshness of the blooms. Watercolor at its best!
