It's a lovely, loose painting with vibrant colours. Works for me Louise.

Well there's a very obvious title, something like slaughter house, LOL This works for Kal, me and must be for you Louise. Good point though - haven't done a sensible watercolour for ages.

Thanks Kal and Derek. This one was just for me to actually pick up a watercolour brush after rather a lot of decorating with gloss paint. It's like a 'slaughter house' but my hall, stairs and landing are looking good Derek..lol, I know it's not that good, just a way for me to get going again. I just had to paint something on paper, anything really and any paper..lol

You must be so relieved that the painting and decorating is finished and you are able to get back to your watercolours again. I can see the influence of the decorator's brush in the loose swaiths of colour in this painting! Welcome back.

I feel like that too when I haven't done anything for a while, scared that I will forget which end of the brush to put in the paint!Lol. This is a great stop gap Louise, and perhaps a taste of things to come (bright & bold) when you finally put the step ladders away.

lol Christine, I can feel the influence of the decorator's brush in my wrist and elbow! Many thanks Fiona and Christine.

Lovely and you explain it so well Louise

This reminds me of some of the puffy patchwork quilts we saw when we visited New England a few years ago (I am sure there is a title there somewhere!). However, I am just enjoying the interaction between the pigments, the dynamic brush strokes and the wonderful colours which go together to make a super flowing and organic abstract painting. I couldn't produce anything like this in a million years so I stand back in awe.

Oh there you are Louise, missed you. I like this especially the little trees. Love that green what is it please?

Many thanks Thea and Carole. Very kind of you. The green is mostly Windsor Green (Blue Shade). the rest, I'm not too sure, a bit of a splashy mix really!

You know me Louise! I love it, love it, love it :) it reminds me of the rolling Yorkshire Moors! Glad that you are back with some more of your outstanding work :)

Thank you Sarah, I think that's what I had in mind as I wielded the decorating brush!

What fantastic effects and colours

Love this one Louise - lovely loose and light and there are some really interesting areas.

watercolour painted on wallpaper lining paper. I haven't picked up my watercolour brushes for a couple of weeks now and felt that certain guilt! What is it that drives us on? That need to paint and the worry that we might forget how if we don't keep at it! Quickly with a couple of one inch decorating brushes, hakes and some decorating heavy duty lining paper, I rushed this off and feel a lot better for doing so even if it's not so good!! My way of loosening up perhaps, ready for the next painting?
