This one is really stripped down Louise, lots of strong lines and brush strokes. I like this palette too. You should exhibit your latest Manchester street scene series, I think you're on a winner with them.

My favourite out of the three Louise! The deep red going across the painting does it for me. Good work!

Good series, love the colours in this one.

My favourite too, the colours really make this one a winner in my eyes.

Thank you ladies for your kind comments. I'm afraid they'll be a number 4. as I'm not completely finished with this canal..lol

Love the patches of colours, shapes and lines. I also like that you can see how your have used your bold brush strokes to build the painting up. The slash of red is a great addition.

Love the red echoed by the yellow and black slashes. I also love the vertical lines to the left.

Out of the 4 I prefer this one, I think it is the most abstract with the strongest colors and the least detail. Only the widows and if you know it the tall recognizable tower, without them it could be anything, but with these as clues it becomes a recognizable scene. I think its interesting to see how little information is needed to create a recognizable picture.

Vertcals, horizontals and arched diagonal, all in perfect chromatic harmony. Venice? Waterloo? Doesn't matter. Yes, I could happily live with this on my wall.
