Accuracy like this is all important in this subject. Good colour choice in your impression. Luckily I missed these, being too young (yes me) when I crossed the mainline at Darlington evert day

Normally I much prefer steam locomotives. However, I did have a thing about Deltics. These were, I believ, the biggest locomotives made for British Rail. These monsters used to pull the express trains to Scotland from Kings Cross - in fact when I was a lad I used to go to Kings Cross just to see them in my trainspotting days.
