A lovely peaceful scene, Lionel, with gentle colours that sit well together. And how great that you resurrected one you did earlier and altered it - I tend to put things away and forget about them... I just wonder whether perhaps the stream could have been a little more off centre - but don't take my opinion as being correct, it's just a personal feeling.

Thanks for your kind words, Jane. You are quite right about the position of the stream. Straight down the middle, or across, for that matter, is seldom a good ides, but I was limited by the position of the trees I had already painted.

Well Lionel, it's still a very attractive painting.

You're very brave Lionel to re-visit a painting, it fills me with dread knowing that I ought to try and do something to improve a disaster. I have done it a couple of times...with the help of people like yourself and others on the site, and fortunately it has been a fairly good result. I think you have done an excellent job on this one Lionel; I love the background and foreground trees, the undergrowth isn't too fusy and the stream lead you up to he front door of the cottage.....so what's wrong with it?? I like the foreground grasses, did you paintng them in or scratch them out? Very effective.

Hi, Fiona. Thank you for taking the time to comment, and so kindly! No, I am not brave. With a bit of care with the choice of colours, it is quite easy to overpaint and thus correct with acrylics. The foreground grasses were painted in.

Only just spotted this one - a very worthy picture - can't comment on the 'before' but the 'after' with the stream etc works really well.

Thank you very much, Michael, for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your feedback.

Here's one I did over a year ago. I didn't much like it then and so I have put a stream/river down the middle and a couple of rocky outcrops in to liven it up a bit. What do you think?
