might they be characters you saw in the waiting room ?

No Pat. I don't draw the people in NHS waiting rooms, doesn't seem right...it's all made-up stuff. Reality can be a bit grim.

Maybe everyone in the waiting room should be given a pad and pencil instead of reading 10 year old magazines! Glad your wife is doing well, and hoped you’ll be doing more at home soon and not there. I love the little chap with his heavy bags!

Another collection of weird and wonderful characters to set the imagination on fire. Thanks Lewis.

These are excellent ways to pass time and useful practise. Funny thing Lew, I spent almost a full day in hospital two days ago and had a small pad and pen/pencil, yet never drew a single thing. Maybe it was being in a ward or being a bit nervous? I read the paper, fiddled with a crossword and just watched life on the ward. I think the promised tea and toast was my priority...(-:

Glad things are going well for your wife, at least drawing passes the time away, I do a couple of hours most afternoons and the time flies by. Great sketches as usual 😁

Time well spent Lewis. Fortunately no one looked over your shoulder and asked 'that's not supposed to be me is it?'.. lol

These are great Lewis, Spent some time in hospital myself lately but couldn't draw a thing, state of mind I guess.

That was quick for both the appointment and the drawings, Lew. The top left guy looks like my doctor, at least his mannerisms do. Great sketches, as always, just amazing. Bri

Thanks to all for the feedback, very welcome as ever. I too was a bit shy at first, I usually find a seat tucked away, if I can. Yes Louise, I've had a couple of people ask 'it that me?' On one I was drawing a heavily bearded hairy skinny druid type, and was asked that by a fat bald headed man...I assumed he was interest and needed to say something. I recall we had a brief chat.

Goodness Lewis, some of these guys look really poorly! Joking apart, they're great, especially like the diver...looks my kinda guy, but only if he'll carry my gear for me! Hope your wife has a speedy full recover, give her my regards.

Great stuff Lewis, I love the man with the bags, he looks as if he is dreading his hospital stay and has brought a bagful of reading material with him!

Don't think I've ever seen the top two in an NHS waiting room. Health tourists?

That’s a wonderful way to pass waiting room time Lewis. Glad all’s well.

Glad things are going well. These are just brilliant. The bottom right is a porter ....

Glad to hear your wife is doing well, Lewis. A great selection!

Always good to "escape" reality at times, and your way gives people a lot of pleasure.

Back to the hospital yesterday, this time for my wife's post-op check. Doing well. Quite good yesterday I only had time for the 'alien' character...about 20 minutes. The other three are from when we had to go for a pre-op, three doodles...about forty minutes. So again, not too bad as things go these days.
