I agree. Reviewing old stuff can give you a surprise. It's so important to keep sketch books. Great sketch 👌 Lewis

So glad you re-posted, this is a beauty in every regard. Love that hair BTW. Would love to see more portraits from you Lewis

Your style and a fantastic portrait. I’d know that was your work anywhere

Yes remember this one Lewis and a very good one it is.

Lew this is superb , I love your characters but this is in a totally different league not surprisingly you are a fine portrait artist, definitely get some more done I think you would enjoy the challenges.

Not seen this before Lew , absolutely brilliant.

A very striking portrait Lewis. Althoigh different it still retains you inimitable style. A very impressive work.

Beautifully painted Lewis.

A little beauty Lewis, brilliantly drawn as always.

Beautifully done! I particularly like how you’ve captured the light on her face and her lovely, curly hair.

Beautifully done, Lewis, full of character, and love the style.

Beautifully pencilled in Lewis!

We don’t always appreciate some of the art we do at the time. This is a beauty Lewis.

An excellent portrait Lewis

This is brilliant, Lewis, hair and all!

Thanks very much for your response to this oldie.

Impressive. You did well keeping the background light and calm.

Terrific portrait Lewis.

Looking through old sketchbooks. Found this early attempt at using coloured pencils. I remember feeling I'd made a bit of a hash of it, especially the scribbly hair. Now I like it. Strange how your view changes with time. Eight years in this case. Inktense pencils, used wet and dry. Must do more standard portraits. I love drawing faces but can't resist the caricature effect.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
