I see a gentler side of you in this painting Lewis, was it from memory I wonder?

I did use a free use reference photo, but I don’t copy them exactly. I drew an imaginary face and used the shading on the ref photo. So not quite imagined and not quite copied.

This is very good, Lewis! It is great to see a different side to your capabilities!

Quite different from you Lewis and she has a lovely gaze, very nice indeed

I have no idea what 'wist' is but the lady's look in your portrait is distinctly wistful

Like this a lot Lew, the shading on the face is really good, different but it still has the Cooper touch. I understand what you mean about not quite imagining or copied , I do the same with landscape and ships etc , always different from the original .

A lovely, sensitive, portrait Lewis. I like the expression of longing and in particular her eyes and hair.

Really good portrait, great skin tones and colour, good one Lew.

Different and good Lewis. Well Drawn.

This is lovely Lewis. Well done.

Just shows how talented you are Lewis, I think this is a fabulous portrait.

Great portrait Lewis, could this be Mona Lisa on a bad hair day😉

Unmistakeable as yours Lewis. Like it a lot.

Another thumbs 👍 from me. Lovely job.

This is beautiful, very different to what you usually do. I really like this. Will we see more of this?

Thanks very much for your comments. I hope to do more Jen.

I agree with Frank. A gentle side. It has feeling Lewis.

So beautifully painted!

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
