Nothing beats a SMILE Lewis. Super characters.

Great characters - bottom left is my favourite.

I’m just trying to work out how Mona would eat…..messily poor lass. I like the kindly looking chap top right, he looks the listening type.

Great characters Lew , really like the sailor.

Thanks for your comments. Odd that a couple of you like the bottom left pic. I intended to do it just using watercolour, chiefly because I’m struggling with brushes at the moment. Made a complete mess of his chin, I tried lifting the paint off with water…didn’t work. Initially he had no beard. So I darkened the area where his new beard would go with dark blue coloured pencil, to provide a background for the white beard. I did the beard mostly with a white posca pen and some gouache. Still didn’t like it, and wasn’t going to post it. Had another look a few days later, and thought it ok.

Great Lewis. But the Mona Lisa needs to see an orthodontist or like Marjorie says she will make an awful mess while eating. They are all fab

Al of then a excellent characters Lew .

Nothing like a big smile to brighten the day Lewis. Some wonderful characters.

All wonderful Lewis but I’m particularly tickled at the teeth of the Mon Lisa.

Lovely work you have done here. They are all great but my favourite is the Mona Lisa.🙂

4 great and expressive characters - the painting struggle doesn't show!

My daily smile. Thankyou.

That Mona Lisa is going to haunt me from now on!!

Thanks again to all for your kind response.

Brilliant as always Lewis! Happy, smiling face, especially the Mona Lisa!

Great expressions as usual Lewis. I don't think I'll go to the dentist who did Mona's teeth though!

Four great characters Lewis all so well drawn and painted.

No signs of struggle apparent to me Lewis. Think his beard is super.

Thanks for another smile, Lewis...bottom left my favourite too!

5 great smiles! Includes mine!

Two pics on left were intended to be just in watercolour, but I messed them up. Used coloured pencils, gouache and posca pen to 'rescue' them. The Mona pic, all coloured pencil (new version of an old sketch). Top right is pen and thin washes. I can manage coloured pencils and pens, struggling with watercolour. Must keep trying.
