Pen and Ink (Oldie from about 10 years ago) by Lewis Cooper

Spooky. You want to know who's look at who. And then you see the eye look at us

What a lot of fantastic detail , Lew it’s superb, each piece is great but for the little nuthatch stands out .

No wasted space at all. Rather spookily the lady in the cloche hat reminds me of a local author who has started writing 1920s based thrillers. As this work is 10 years old, it makes me wonder if Lew is prescient.

What a brilliant oldie Lewis ... all those eyes, what a great composition

Thanks for your comments. I wish I was Tony, if I was I’d start doing the lottery. Not really a composition Heather, just separate drawings. At this time I’d seen a lot of artists were making finished work in sketchbooks, they were being called ‘mini-galleries’, I liked that idea and intended this sketchbook to be like that. The idea didn’t last…half of the book has the usual scribble stuff in it.

Absolutely brilliant pen work Lewis.

Superb set of mini artworks, nicely done Lew.

The detail on these sketches is absolutely superb. Your work is an absolute joy to behold!!

We are being watched. Sinister undertones but fabulous art work Lewis.

Excellent detail as always, Lewis.

These are great, Lewis, such detail!

Little masterpieces of drawing.

Love it - and there’s something very appealing about monochrome.

Fantastic detail in this Lew, all brilliant.

I like this, it has a message Lewis.

Exceptional work!

From 10 years back when I started buying much better quality sketchbooks, and doing more finished work in them. Looks like I've copied ref photos...don't do enough of that.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
