You are having fun Lew ...she is just right.

Another great pic Lewis. I like the colours - are you going to have a blue/brown theme for all of them?

I like this one, Lewis. Great job. I look forward to your revision, though. Brian

I think she's just right too...stop beating yourself up Lewis!

Nice job, she looks very good though I'd agree to friendly faced.

Thanks for your comments. Yes Jenny, the same palette for all of them...cobalt and cerulean blues, paynes grey, mars brown and a tiny bit of cad red medium. This pic is OK, but she's NOT Mrs Gamp.

I'm seeing it as just fine Lewis.

Ha ha. Don't do yourself down Lewis. You really capture comedy. This is perfect. And a great colour scheme

Nice one, there she is in all her glory. Perfect portrait.

She looks a bit like the Pauline Collins version of Mrs Gamp but I think you are right in a way, maybe she should be a bit more raddled. However, I still think it's a great picture.

Not as au fait with Dickens as I should be, great depictions inspiring my curiosity to give him a second chance.

You can redo your paintings as often as you like Lewis, that's more for us to admire. I think she looks just great.

I love all your Dickens paintings.

Very Dickension - could be a book illustration.

Like it but agree she does look a bit too nice. Will look forward to your revision.

Love this latest series of characters Lewis, I’m looking forward to your revamp of this one.

I like it Lewis, looks fine to me and if you do her again it would be interesting comparing the two, keep them coming.

I thought I'd post this because it shows the trials and tribulations we're all familiar with in trying to make pictures. I wanted to include Mrs Gamp, I recalled Dickens giving her a 'watery eye' (among other things). I tried to do that in this pic but it didn't look right, so with a bit of lifting out and gouache I changed it...but the eyes are wrong.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
