Whingeing in the Land of Giants.

That was quick Heather, I've had no time to get my gripe in. Not happy with how this has uploaded, the background isn't as sharp as the foreground in my picture, that was intentional, but on my PC this looks naff. I was about to remove it before anyone commented...but Heather beat me to it. (It'd be bad manners to remove it now...hope it looks OK on tablets at least.)

Please don't remove it ! It's fab

Looks fine to me Lew, the main character is in focus and the washing is slightly out as if in the distant haze.

Again Lewis - if you say nothing then no one else will because they wont see anything wrong. , Fantasy world can be what you like. Was trying to think of the character who used that phrase about being "doomed" - was it on Dad's army ?.

It’s a great illustration, Lewis. (I’m looking at it on my iPad and I do find that the top half, especially the two rock formations, look out of focus rather than more muted. I’ve not noticed this before in any of your other work.)

Looks fine to me Lewis but I can understand your frustration when it's not presented how you would like it to be.

I think the 'doomed' was the Scots bloke in Dad's Army Mike. Jenny, the background is less defined than the foreground in my picture. I used water-soluble pencils, after applying the water they lose some definition. I left it like that because it looked how I wanted, adding to the depth of the picture. However, it looks worse than intended in this upload. I've done this before and they looked fine after uploading, so something's changed. But I'm glad to have this website, so I'll stop whingeing about this. Any pic I upload that I don't like, I'll remove as quickly as I can. I apologize in advance to anyone in the middle of making a comment, and then finding I've remove the picture.

This is great Lewis. The way you have managed to draw/paint the rock strata and forest is brilliant!

Love it, Lewis.

The main foreground character is brilliantly clear and the hazy distance is absolutely appropriate. It is upsetting not to see your painting as you would wish to Lewis but nothing detracts from your skill, imagination and humour.

A great drawing. Love it.

Looks great to me Lew, the illustration is there, not your fault if a little blurring it does not retract from your clever piece.

It's great, Lewis, taking photos is really problematical, for my hands shake, but this looks good!

May not be how you like it, but am sure most of us are just pleased to see another of your humorous and well thought out " postings",

Well I love the illustration and the humour as always Lewis. I can see the issue you might have with the clarity of the whole image but I don't think it still works brilliantly.

A fantasy. An exercise to show how big the giants might be. Putting giants and normal sized people in the same picture can be problematical. A3 sketchbook - mixed media.
