Superbly constructed.

All most 3 D Lewis. I like these sort of pictures where part of it seems to be leaving it. I visited a local gallery recently, and one of the artists had painted on to the mount, which gave a new depth to the finished painting.

Very 3D, what a great effect!

Super illustration, Lewis, love the composition and 3D effect!

Thank you for your comments. It's odd that you see a 3D effect, that wasn't the intention, the idea was that she's strayed from the path contained within the box. But I'll happily accept the 3D idea...it amounts to the same thing anyway.

This is excellent Lew you certainly have that dip pen working well for you . I’m always like the detailing you put into your artwork, definitely a master craftsman.

I agree with other comments here- great depth to the painting and I like the pop of colour on her cape contrasting with the dark woods behind.

The trees are excellent and as said the 3D effect is very eye catching,

Red on grey is always a great combination, and the way you have used it lifts this into another realm.

Love those trees and it is very clever to have her straying out of the picture.

Terrific pen work on the trees Lewis. Well designed.

Superb Lewis, I find this quite emotive having strayed 'from the path' far too often in years gone by!

Agree with all the comments but have to say those trees are amazingly tactile Lewis.

Lovely details and effects Lewis.

I agree about the 3d effect Lewis…….great trees!

Love the rendition of the trees, they form an appropriately sinister and suspenseful backdrop. Super work!

Like others have said, looks 3D, makes your painting come alive Lewis.

Beautiful pen drawing Lew.

Generally good advice, especially in fairy stories. Still using a dip pen. I like it, but things take longer than modern drawing pens.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
