Excellent characters Lew, drawn beautifully.

A great oldie, Lewis!

Glad you reposted and perfect for current weather ... I grew up going to English seaside towns and spending ages looking and laughing at these postcards, bet they wouldn't be allowed now.

Thank you Paul, Anne and Heather. The last time I was at the seaside, I had a look at the few postcards on display…they were all photos of local scenery. But who sends postcards today? For that matter I can’t remember the last time I had a written letter. All that is consigned to history I guess.

So that's where Hockney got his inspiration from for 'A Bigger Splash'. Great stuff.

Seaside postcards, they were great and part of the great British seaside tradition. Now bad pc, what tosh...Just good fun. I just love this Lewis, however the lady in question made me laugh as she looks like a friend of mine lol. Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous

Good to see an oldie Lewis. Remember the McGill postcards well. You’ve really captured the style.

Fabulous, as always, Lewis!!!

Brilliant as ever, Lewis!

Great to see again! I laughed at Tony’s comment too!

I loved the old seaside postcards - this one’s fun.

Use to love the old saucy postcards, this is brilliant.

Love them Lew

Hilarious Lewis with lots of wonderful detail - the eyes rolling upwards, the believable waves and that look of sheer joyous indulgence on the woman’s face.

Can't beat a good chuckle Lewis and chuckle I did.

Beautifully drawn, so clever!

Excellent characters as usual Lewis.

Brilliant, just like the old postcards 😂

Brilliant Lewis! It would make a great seaside postcard.

Super Lewis, I can see the big splash coming up

During a sort out of my mass of art stuff I came across this...it's odd for me because it was done in acrylic. I haven't used that in years. It's in the style of Donald McGill, the saucy postcard king...not copied...just that style. It occurs to me that if this hot weather keeps up, we may all want to jump in the sea.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
