You should make a book of all these fantastic paintings Lewis

These are superb, great figure drawing and full of humour.

I echo Carolyn's thoughts. A book of your fantastic paintings together with your writings would make a best seller. Another great collection of paintings.

Wonderful, Lewis. As always super characters. The guy on the clarinet makes me think of Acker Bilk playing Stranger on the Shore.

Pass the tissues! Fabulous characters and a great collection Lewis.

Well done Lew, a fine collection of work.

A wonderful array of characters Lewis, it's one of your paintings you could look at for ages.😀

Fantastic Lew; great characters, great colours and great topic. Lovely work.

Love the array of different emotions on display, Lewis. I don't know how I missed this one. Brilliant in its conception and execution. Good luck with the printing. Brian

Really love it. Great to see it finished.

A book! Definitely a best seller...these are absolutely stunning images, Lewis

Thank you everyone for your generous and encouraging comments. The problem with making stuff up is it never matches what's in your mind. I needed a ref pic for the clarinet...I wanted it to be at least recognizable, I got the pose for the singer from somewhere but made no attempt to copy the actual singer...it was just the pose I wanted. The one I'm most pleased with is the barmaid, I think she looks really cut up by the sad song she's hearing.

It has turned out brilliantly Lewis, I like the biker - such a hard man showing he can cry too! I don't think his lady friend is impressed though.

Oh Boo Hoo! Wonderful set Lewis.

This will be old news to anyone who follows the WIP forum. It's a series of pics about how people respond to an evening of sad songs at a pub (any sad songs you like.) Watercolour and pen.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
