A timely warning by Lewis Cooper

Yes, it's weird the array of clothing you see when the weather is like it has been. Our postie wears shorts all year round and even in the snow. Your painting made me laugh out loud.

Never mind vests - keep your liberty bodices on too!

Thanks Heather and Marjorie. Sadly I gave my liberty bodice to charity. I’ve been wearing my sixteen-piece suit…haven’t actually got one…that’s my term for being fully wrapped up including draughty excluders.

A timely warning Lew - and thank you for looking after us - laughter is the best medicine

All so so true! You have such a talent for observation and making us all laugh Lew. Thank you. 🤣

That made me laugh. My other half is very thin ( he's a runner still) and will put a scarf on in the summer! Haven't thought about liberty bodies for while. Good cartoon.

Excellent artwork Lew, great observation skill is vey much evident in your artwork . I was once told by an old countrymen that May in the saying is referring to he Hawthorn blossom , it’s know as May . He aid it’s not till after it has blossomed ( out ) that you should not cast a clout .

Great observation Lew ,us older people have seen it all before, roll on summer.

That’s a point Paul, now you mention it I recall reading that myself. Down our way, the May trees are in glorious display… so a way to go yet.

Yup! Agree! Every year, same story...this morning we had a thunder storm... again!!! This ia Malta! What happened??? Thanks Lewis for the smile!

Never a truer word Lewis. Our weather fluctuates so much that it’s sometimes difficult to know what to wear. Love your humorous, graphic, description.

Got caught out myself on Saturday on Harlech beach - shorts, T-shirt - snatched!!

Funny Lewis. Great colour combinations.

Definitely reminded me of that old saying. Great drawing 👍🏻

Good old saying and very true, never cast a clout till May is out , I bet its caught a few people out 😊

Very timely advice Lewis with the way our weather, and temperature, goes up and down.

Yes, indeed. My hands were blue yesterday after my usual walk! I normally wear five layers. Two last week, now back to five.

Thanks to everybody for your response to my public health warning.

Thank you for all your postings Lewis.

Great fun as usual Lewis.

Made a trip to Oxford. Sat with a coffee watching passers bye. Some wearing T-shirts and a thong, others fully lagged-up for winter. It made me think of everybody's grannies advice...'don't cast a clout 'til May is out.' Drew this. (Clout: Olde English for a piece of clothing or leather.) Be warned, keep your vests on everyone.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
