What's under your beret is yours and what Ain't is all Mine. Was another Lewis. Fond memories now but the hot breath and bulging eyes of the RSM at the time certainly had most quaking in their boots. Thanks for reminding me.😁

'haven't drawn the drill sergeant's mouth big enough!' blimey, I'll take your word for that, Lewis. Another good 'un to start the morning.

Excellent artwork Lew , that was a polite one in my day most sentences from Corporals about only contained two normal words most of the rest was swearing and a sort of speech , totally incoherent, but you got the Bl##### point . Oddly I used the same technique myself later .

Great, says it all!

Very good Lewis, reminds me of some of my school teachers.

One of the many joys I missed out on! Another splendid cartoon.

Superb Lew ,I can only imagine what they went through 😠

Poses captured perfectly Lewis, great work as usual.

Love the expression of fear and I think the mouth is more than big enough Lewis. !!!

My old maths teacher used that expression at 1m decibels. Ha “good” memories I think

Brilliantly drawn Lewis. Really like how the figures are leaning forward - Higgins definitely fearful.

Haha …..one of my dad’s old sayings! Great fun Lewis.

Thanks very much for your comments.

I knew a rather naive young man, who joined the Army - and got himself out of it at the first opportunity "because these stupid people kept screaming at me"; I did wonder what else he had expected; and also wondered why the British armed forces seem to think that discipline in the ranks can only be maintained by NCOs bawling their heads off, but perhaps military service and I have avoided each other to mutual benefit... Reminds me of the actor Ernest Thesiger; asked something along the lines of 'how you found the war?' (First World War), his reply was that it wasn't too bad, "but my dear, the noise! The people!" He did stick it out, though. Another great drawing; enjoying the drill sergeant's cauliflower ear....

Great characters Lewis.

Excellent cartoon drawing just love the expressions on their faces.

Excellent drawing once again Lewis

We'd been talking about my time in the forces a lifetime ago. So when I was thinking what to draw, I drew this. I haven't drawn the drill-sergeants mouth big enough. Pen and Indian Ink, text added in photoshop.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
