Heatwave

Excellent as usual :-)

Brilliant, sort of thing my grandad would have said.

Smashing! Vests eh? Those were the days. 🤣

Ah the good old days, but as it's summer no doubt he had already taken off his liberty bodice.

Great humour Lewis.

Fabulous Lewis. I remember my Grandad handkerchief and four knots on his head. Trousers rolled up to the knees paddling in the sea on the hottest of days.

I love the way you used red for the figures to add to the heat of the blazing sun. I feel the comment is something Andy Capp might have made. By the way, what is a vest :-)

What a hardy lot they were back then Lewis. Braving the heat in suits, ties, waistcoats etc. The women with all their layers and shawls. What would they think of the practically naked youth in not even hot weather.

Thanks for your comments. I'll have to get off this subject, I'm not enjoying it...this weather is not British (sadly it may be now.).

A lovely look at life Lew. Might have to stop wearing my woolly hat.

How time and weather has changed!

What about his long johns? My grandfather wore them. Great humour Lewis.

Love the look on Maisie's face - lovely humour, Lewis!

Love it Lewis and the colour really makes the heat in the picture “ hot”

Phew! The 'never complain' generation, great stuff Lewis

Vests? That is all I’m wearing!

I feel for this gentleman - an elderly local resident said to me the other day, 'I've never seen you without a jacket on before!'. Well, I hadn't realized I was being watched, frankly .... but it's true that I'm not one for casual attire: and I WOULD wear a suit all the time if I could. But not right now .... Even I have never worn two vests at once, though: come the winter, this might be a very good idea: will we get a winter as hostile to human and animal life as this summer has been?

Thanks for your very welcome comments. This will strike a chord for anyone of a certain age. When I was young we didn't have summer and winter clothes, we just had clothes. The times they are a changing.

Brilliant work I like the way you have drawn with red to show the heat ❤️

Doodled in water-soluble pencil. (Early in the morning before it gets too hot.)
