What a beautiful delicate face; very victorian in style and expression and just gorgeous.

The halo effect works particularly well here, because it's not obvious against the pale-toned backdrop but contributes massively to the painting. Superb skin tones, and the hair, which many of us find hard to do, is absolutely right for the soft textures of the painting as a whole.
