A serial 'foody'
Watercolour. I was happily sitting in the sun on my front garden seat the other day when this man walked down the street. I was once told that the older you get the further up your trouser waist level goes. This man's trousers, held up by his braces, was an example I thought. Then he stopped and began talking to me. He went on and on and on about the meal he'd eaten the night before. Every detail of each part of it was described with clinical precision and considered criticism. Even the number of peas and volume of the rice pudding was seriously calculated. When he finally finished I opened my mouth to say something and he ignored me and continued on down the street. For goodness sake I thought, get a life.
