Good times Michael. This is just lovely.

......her eyes they shown like diamonds, I thought her the Queen of the land and her hair it hung over her shoulder tied up with a black velvet band. Beautiful Michael! You’re a lucky man.

Thanks Kal. All I have left now in my dying throes is my memories. Thanks Fiona. Nearly the same girl but this one had a Cockney accent, her eyes 'shone' like diamonds and her hair was tied 'up' most of the time. But hey! Don't listen to me! Cos this wasn't meant to be no sad song We've heard too much of that before Right now I only want to be here with you Till the morning dew comes falling I want to take you to the island......... By the way, her name was Dolores.

A truly beautiful story, can it be adapted for television, did she have a bad hair day when you painted her, : -)

Her hair was often untidy Linda.

And the Dubliners were playing softly in the background as she gently poured you a foaming pint of Guinness without spilling a drop Michael..(-:

The Dubliners were on tour in Blackpool that Summer Jim but I had no time for drinking.

You have plenty of style Michael

What can I say, l like it Michael. No the words are, tied up with a black lastic band. Lol

Black elastic John. Those were the days. Also Dolores Keane, The Island.

It's the way you tell 'em Michael! She does have a long neck but her lips look wonderful!!!!

Yes they were Margaret, voluptuous. She was a grand kisser. I think it had something to do with her playing the trumpet in factory band.

Goodness Fiona, the bug is catching! Linda - how cruel😁. She tried to find you Mick, but having never heard of Durham, she thought it was on another planet and, alas, she couldn't afford the rocket fare. By the way, she married that bus inspector and they had 10 beautiful children😊.

I'm pleased for them Adele. She stayed active then?

Very active Mick!!!

What a life you've had Michael! Another lady that you've left distraught. Wot r u like!! ..this is a really good portrait. Her hair is gorgeous!

I've enjoyed looking at the portrait and reading the comments!

Pastel. A girl from Frimley, Surrey, who I met on holiday in Blackpool during the scorching Summer of 1963. She had a neck like a swan and tied her hair up with a black velvet band. We spent a lot of our time on the beach. I recall tracing her footprints in the sand and in the evening when there was no one about we'd make love to the sound of the ocean. Her last sobbing words to me were, 'I've had the time of my life and I owe it all to you. I've never felt this way before'. As my bus pulled away on it's way back to Durham I had one last look back at her. She had collapsed onto the bus station floor and was being assisted by a bus inspector.
