Thanks Holger. I'm enjoying this digital phase so much but I need to get back to some traditional painting this week. It's so convenient to pick up the iPad and paint, especially when my studio is in a cold garage and my knees and hips hurt when I stand up.

Great light Michael

Thanks for your kind comments Michael this really is a beauty. Lovely gallery also love the portraits

Thanks Hazel. Praise indeed from a water and light technician like you. All your work is full of talent. I did this digital painting just before bedtime last night. They can happen so spontaneously. Nothing on the telly so I started to doodle and then saw the light of a great river at night and some dark brown oblongs which looked like riverside buildings. Where was I going? That was exciting. I really like that experience of surprise and spontaneity, especially when the moment has become boring. It has to be an inherent part of our genetics to go into the unknown. So, I go with it. It's natural.

Thanks Dennis. I think I'm living a bit of a contradiction in myself. I have always worked in ordered situations generally yet my natural inclination is to relax into disorder. When it comes to art I find it very difficult to achieve order and detail. So I envy those who can create detailed drawings and paintings which look like photographs. I do my best and I can see I'm getting a bit better. However, I need to abandon the envy and just be me. Although, I suppose we didn't get where we are today by being completely ourselves. It can get too easy. All your work is brilliant.

That's right Michael, just be you with your art! I love this digital painting with wonderful mixes of colours and beautifully placed markings for the docklands.

Thanks Satu. Yes, I won't be a sheep. I'm pleased with this.

This very appealing Michael, I like the light in the sky reflected beautifully.
