As you know I love your wildlife paintings, another beauty Karen.

Lovely painting Karen, a brilliant composition.

It works all right - these birds are supposed to have keen eyesight and a good sense of direction: well perhaps it was judgement then, when one of these flew out of trees straight at me, so close I could feel the breath from its wings (but couldn't hear a sound, because you don't): this was at dusk on a little-used road and I was reminded of the naturalist who lost an eye when he peered incautiously into a hollow tree and came face to face with a tawny owl - I wondered if owls got old and confused, like a number of senior drivers.. You've captured everything here in this owl in action.

One of a series of paintings of wildlife you'd (hopefully!) see on Dartmoor. I was looking for a different composition as this is my fourth owl, hope it works!
