Great use of a new sketchbook!

A lovely sketch and it’s beautifully painted.

Nice one Karen, a great location for sketching too. Have you used the low-tack yellow Frog Tape for masking? I find it really good.

Lovely place and painting Karen. I like the texture of the paper showing through.

Thank you Heather, Paul and Tessa. Thanks Andrew too, and for the heads-up on low tack tape, a definite must-have!

Very nicely painted. Before applying masking tape, just quickly stick it on your clothes and then apply. Have found this reduces the stickiness but still does the job!

An enchanting sketch and painting Karen. You make this look such an inviting place.

A lovely painting, Karen - such an inviting flight of steps!

Sketch book work is always worth seeing, I like this composition!

I love the invitation to climb the steps and explore Karen, lovely sketch and a fitting christening for your new sketchbook.

Thank you so much everyone for you lovely comments; always so encouraging! Thank you Romila, that sounds like a very good tip, I will certainly try it.

A lovely piece, with accents in all the right places and clear, luminous washes. Super work, Karen.

Thank you Seok.

Watercolour sketch of an area in the National Botanic Garden of Wales, painted after a visit last week (8x8in). I've used Panart handmade paper, in a sketchbook I bought at Patchings Art fest last month. It's really nice to paint on but it didn't like me removing the masking tape I had put around the edge of my paper! It won't stop me using the sketchbook though!
