A very detailed lovely painting which I’m sure they will love. I hope they appreciate the long hours you’ve put in and pay accordingly! Did you agree a price before? I learned from a few years ago doing a painting of someone’s house (a friend then) . When I gave her the painting no money was mentioned and she never paid a bean! My fault I guess….🤷‍♀️ Difficult for people you know, and we all work at different speeds.

Thank you very much for your comments Tessa. Yes, we agreed on a price beforehand, but I do find it hard. Some of the suggested formulas for charging, per square inch for example, would have taken it right out of their budget and imagine what someone would earn in an office job for that long! I always end up under charging because I don’t regard myself as a ‘ professional’ as I don’t earn my living at it. It probably works out at about £2 per square inch. I can’t believe your friend did not offer anything! These people did at least ask what it would cost.
