I was wondereing how you managed to get those clean darks - thanks for the information as it helps us in the learning process too. This is a lovely atmospheric piece and I would say well thought out as the branches in the trees lead your eye around the painting

A great picture - so well executed

Very nice work Judith, I thought perhaps it was a pastel when I first saw the image. i f you don't mind me saying so, I find where the foreground bank and the reflection meet a little confusing, perhaps if you had some longer grasses breaking into the reflection? Just a thought, but very good work.

A superb piece, Judith! Love the textures and sunlight through the leaves. It's so well balanced tonally and your colors are beautiful.

A great drawing Judith I love how my eye travelled around the drawing with that meandering stream.

Excellent work! Really like the dark area of trees on the right and also the touches of blue and red in the foreground

coloured pencil on black paper 30 cms x 20 cms. I discovered that mixing derwent coloursoft and the harder faber castell doesnt work so well. Also very small mark making is better than shading for this picture. It's all a learning process though.
