What a disappointment, I'm sure this lovely work would have been well received, at least your fellow artists on POL can enjoy it.

That's annoying, it's a very good painting of an interesting subject.

PS. Surely you can contact them and explain the problem?

hi this such a shame beatiful painting i would try to contact them as well beings you have gone to all this trouble xx

Yes get on their backs Joseph, it's worth it.

Superb watercolour - it's their loss!

Meaning, what Joseph? Too costly to enter the competition? No matter - as Michael said, their loss. Can't take my eyes off the two guys in orange discussing the niceties of scaffolding unloading - a typical example of your 'casual' attention to detail: a few blobs and hey presto, dialogue!

Thank you all for your super cool comments. Sunday Times have responded to my e-mail saying I can enter this if I fill in a form they sent and send a cheque - happy days :-)

The thing that strikes me about this painting is the amazing draughtsmanship that underpins the work. The scaffolding, lorry and building are brilliant drawn and then we come to the painting which is equally brilliant. What a talent you have, Joseph!

I meant to have a go at the Sunday Times comp but I have a memory like a sieve, I'm totally disorganized and forgot all about it until you reminded me here and I see I'm too late now. I'd even left the competition details lying around gathering dust..lol You should do well with this one, perfect use of watercolour, let us know how you get on. Also, I absolutely agree with what Thea just said.

Super watercolour. Agree with the other comments.

Thank you Louise, Thea, and Paul. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Thea - it was one of the most complicated under drawings I have ever done lol.

This is a watercolour (30cm x50cm) that I did for The Sunday Times competition but no matter what I did it would not let me pay the entrance fee - I'm so upset with their billing system. Oh well, life goes on
