Great work on these earthenware jars Julie, very realistic, good use of colour as well

What a wonderful still life. Shame about the paper. Perhaps you can ask the POL Forum if anyone knows of a remedy.

A super painting of your interesting collection of stone jars and bottles Julie. You have a real eye for detail and have blended in all those varying shades to portray the shapes and shadows beautifully!

Before I read your introduction, I was thinking just how great your use of subtle colours was. Gorgeous.

I started looking at your brown bottle which I thought were good but this beats them. The beautiful pearlescent colours you've got in the glazes are just beautiful.

Thank you all for your most encouraging comments. I was amazed by the colours I saw as I studied this composition. I am now looking for some interesting glass bottles to paint!

A collection of stone jars and bottles on my windowsill. I placed some light coloured card behind them and took a photograph on a fairly dull day. I was really very surprised by the subtle colours I could see in the overall off-white colour of them. I really enjoyed painting this - it is done in Artisan oils on Fabriano Tela oil paper (24 x 32 cm). However, I will not buy this paper again as I find it de-laminates with just the slightest friction of the paint brush! I have quite lot of it still to be used though.
