This is loveley Julie, and I love all your birds.Thank you for your kind comments on my Kingfisher.

Such a lovely arrangement Julie. It has a lovely lacy look to it. Very nice indeed. I have never tried collage....but I will now.

I really like this Julie, all those different patterns in the background must have taken ages to recreate in oils. It's lovely! We are having a 'collage' day at my art group tomorrow, the theme is 'oriental', I have a few ideas but they never seem to turn out quite like I imagined!

hi julie this is beatiful i love your tulips and the background is amazing from paula

Love your palette on this one Julie, an interesting and intricate painting.

I bet it took you ages to paint and it was worth every minute. A lovely, lovely composition and the background is stunning. Well done!!

Thank you so much to everyone for your kind comments. I did enjoy painting it, despite the time it took to do all patterns in the background.

Great one Julie - love it

Wonderful palette and design.

A lovely piece. I really like the contrast of the tulips and vase against the background.

This is the other one I was talking about – it's super, and congratulations for being chosen. Lovely.

Hi Julie, just found your portfolio and love it. Lively, colourful and lots of flowers. I really like these tulips and still life arrangement. I used to have water based oil paints years ago and have since thought about trying with them again. You have inspired me to do just that. Do you prefer to work on canvas, board or paper with these oils? I ask as I used to work on gessoed paper and it was a lovely way to work.

Water based oil on canvas board. This is another painting taken from an earlier piece of work. Like the 'Yellow tulips', this idea was originally created in torn magazine paper collage on sketchbook paper and was scanned, printed and used to make greetings cards. For want of something better to do, I decided to paint the image in a larger format (approx. 30x40 cm). It kept me quiet and busy for ages!
