This is my first real attempt at painting a child - my little grand-daughter. It is painted as usual in water-based oils on a canvas board. I have just started using boards and find them very easy and convenient to work on. Initially I found it difficult to get the soft skin tones, and also the degree of shadow - I was concerned not to make them too harsh. It will be a present for my son and his wife - I think!
