Centuries ago, where this huge monument of three giant swords now stands there took place a huge and bloody battle, fought with axes and swords by the vikings of Norway. Nothing good ever comes from war but perhaps the uniting of the Vikings into the nation of Norway can be a positive thing. This painting is one of a series of six oil paintings measuring 70 x 50 cm and show freshly fallen snow and frozen sea shore at Svard i Fjell near Stavanger, south west Norway.
