Hi John, the colours you have achieved are very good and your proportions are very good. One of my favourite birds.

Lovely Goldfinch, mine have only just started coming in, they are so late this year.

This seems to be the year of bird paintings, they are everywhere! Your bird looks very good John and you have found the colours beautifully. Funnily enough I was going to paint a Goldfinch yesterday but ended up with a Quail. I have never painted birds before and during this week I have done three! So here we are, the year of birds!
