How did you get the texture of the jacket?

Thank you for all the great comments. This is about 99% pure watercolour with a tiny amount of white gouache. The coat was a nightmare to paint. I tried wet in wet, wet on dry, drybrush and finally went back to wet on wet before wetting and then lifting patches with a tissue. I rarely know exactly how I’m going to paint something unless I’ve done it before. This woollen coat was new.
