nice clean summery watercolour, I allways manage to overwork - some lovely articles in may issue

A very good attempt.I like the recession in the trees.I tried this also but certainly not for posting LOL. I thought May's issue the best yet. Some superb articles. My trouble is I always have difficulty seeing any detail in the photos they post as source material for exercises like this. The last one of the lake for instance, I couldn't even see any ducks and on this one I couldn't make out the outbuildings especially that one on the right.

Thank you all for the comments. I agree that the May LP was one of the better issues. I did attempt the lake in the April issue (minus ducks) but messed it up...maybe will try to revisit the Lake District this year to gain some inspiration...rgds, James.

Started watercolour painting in 1996 after being inspired by TV artists Alwyn Crawshaw and Ashley Jackson. No formal training, but some informal evening sessions with a local artist (the late Ken Middleton), plus a 5-day Edinburgh art break in 2003.
