Was just looking at this again in the magazine today. Good try especially the trees. I think you need to get more colour reflected under the boats. If you look at the photo the road is red under that red boat and perhaps more shadows to show the direction of light. I found both her demos too busy and cluttered so didn't try them.

From Kriss: Thanks for comment Diana, have returned to the photo and see the points mentioned. From James: Agree with the cluttered nature of both demo subjects, I was unsure whether to have a try myself !

Gouache, 6 1/2" x 8". Partner's effort (after F. Peart - LP demo.) Kriss has experimented in the use of gouache, vice acrylic in the LP version.
