The astonishing thing about this is your "I am relatively new to art", because this is a pastel painting of which a professional artist could be proud. You've not yielded to the very powerful temptation to over-state the colours: even though the bird is a jewel, jewels don't always dazzle, and don't have to. I believe in Eddy! He's completely convincing.
