What I really like in this one is the contrast in value on the vase whether it was intentional or not. I think it works really well. I like it Diana

Thanks, Diana. Yes, it was the softer contrasting pattern on the vase that made me think it wasn't so bad after all, but it wasn't intentional!

No I don't agree Jenny this is a winner. The lighter touch on the vase is beautiful and makes it stand forward giving dimension. I like it.

I like this very much Jenny, the vase with less colour looks good and the composition is perfect.

Well of course, I am very pleased to see another monoprint... This is a really solid effort Jenny, well done and they do or should get easier, but that's in theory. Don't forget that you can cheat a little by filling in a few (smallish) areas with a brush that havn't printed too well, that is quite acceptable in my book. Keep at it...

Thanks very much Carole, Satu and Alan. (Alan, I discovered early on that a bit of touching up is often needed! This one printed with nothing on the neck of the vase, so I added some detail afterwards. Glad that a little bit of cheating is acceptable!)

I think you've done a stirling job on this Jenny!!

Thanks very much Gudrun and Fiona. (Fiona, are you still persevering with yours? They are actually quite fun to do even though they rarely turn out as planned!)

This was my most recent attempt at a monotype, and probably the least worst of my many failures - I've found that the harder I try the more difficult they become! The detail on the vase didn't come out very well. On the plus side, though, these are very quick to do, so I'll probably keep trying, but will get some cheaper paper to use in future.
