Lovin this, has a resemblance to Scottish artist Ian McWhinney's figures. Real nice palette too.

Came back to this enchanting painting, the outlining and figure, is it from Fergusons. 'Le voille Persan", again beautifully done.

This is an absolutely delightful piece of work. Love everything about it....Colour, design, composition and method. There is something balanced and restful, I think, when a painting is somewhat stylised.

Thank you, Andre and Ruth. Yes, the inspiration was J D Fergusson's 'Le Voille Persan'. One of my first posts was a more direct copy of that painting which I believe he did during the time he was influenced by the Fauvists, and I really like stylised, colourful approach to his work at that time.

I see the influence Jenny, it's beautiful and fresh work. I've have recently been looking at Peploes work, who I believe was very good friends with Fergusson's.
