I like how pattern and colour depth give the impression of form.

A really eye catching and clever painting Jenny.

Yes wonderful abstract capture in closeup and so recogniseable

A worthy Jeane Haines winner—I love it.

Thank you so much, Alan. It's so rewarding when comments pop up on paintings posted a while ago and you realise people have been looking at your gallery! This was my very first posting - although I'd been subscribing to the Artist for some time I hadn't really been aware of POL until the Jean Haines competition.

You certainly deserved to win that prize! Very clever use of colour and line. Beautiful.

I can understand why this won. It deserves to get there just by the use of contours and darks and lights painted so expertiserly.

Debbie, thank you so much for your comment - it's always nice when comments pop up on an earlier post, in fact this is the painting which originally got me started on POL.

Wow Jenny! another amazing painting, control, glazing and technique so super. Great composition too! Congrats on your recognition and comments from Jean Haines! Well deserved winning painting.

Clean fresh use of watercolour will always win for me. Especially when there is stunning use of pigment in the subject. And this does say "Blue" very loudly. This striking watercolour caught my eye immediately. "
